Location: second floor of 46 Ma May
The building at 46 Ma May is one of the densest nightlife addresses in the Old Quarter: The Bunker on the ground floor, Midnight Club on the second. Step outside and you are a few dozen metres from Fein Club at 44 Ma May, The Circle at 33, and Ta Hien beer corner. That makes Midnight an easy second or third stop on a bar-hopping night.
Practical note: from Friday evening to Sunday, the Hang Buom – Ma May – Ta Hien – Dao Duy Tu area becomes a pedestrian zone and cars cannot reach the door. Park around Tran Nhat Duat or Hang Muoi and walk in; motorbikes follow the attendants at the top of the street. On busy nights expect a five to ten minute walk, so choose shoes accordingly.
The room and the music
Midnight keeps the traditional Old Quarter club layout: a central dance floor, standing and high tables around it, and a row of sofas for bigger groups on the inner side. At around 200 capacity the room fills fast at weekends, and that density is part of the experience – if you want a quiet corner for conversation, pick a bar in the neighbourhood instead.
Musically the club works three lanes: hip-hop (Vietnamese and international), EDM and Vinahouse – the remix genre that dominates local floors. Resident DJs play every night, and weekend or event nights bring guests; the line-up has included rapper OSAD and DJ Million according to the venue’s own listings. Schedules are posted a few days ahead on the club’s page, so check before you go if a specific DJ is the reason for your visit.
About the name: Midnight and Sniff on the same floor
If you find “Sniff 46 Ma May” on booking sites or older maps, that was the previous name of this second-floor space. Booking platforms now record the venue as renamed and point to Midnight Club, while some directories still list the old name. When you arrive, go to the second floor of 46 Ma May and ask for Midnight Club – staff will seat you. We keep this note public so nobody books the wrong place or assumes there are two separate clubs on one floor.
Prices and booking
Midnight has not published a written price list. In this segment of the Old Quarter, costs usually split into three tiers: standing tables (cheapest, for small groups), high tables or small sofas for four to six, and VIP sofas with a bottle for larger groups. Prices move with the night, holidays and table position, so the fastest route is to call the booking line with your group size and budget.
Three questions worth asking when you book: whether the table has a minimum spend, whether VAT and service charge are included in the quoted figure, and how long the table is held if you arrive late. Answering those three upfront removes almost every awkward moment at payment time.
Practical tips for Midnight Club
- Arrive 21:30–22:30 for a good table; after 23:30 at weekends the room is effectively full.
- Dress code: smart casual – skip flip-flops, shorts and tank tops.
- Big groups: book a VIP sofa one or two days ahead; groups of four do well at a high table near the floor.
- Two clubs, one building: start at The Bunker downstairs, then move up to Midnight without going outside.
- Getting home: the club runs past 03:00, but ride-hailing is thin in the Old Quarter at that hour – pre-book or walk to Hang Buom.
